5. Instalacin:

 3. Ejecute el archivo de instalacin en secuencia de comandos haciendo doble clic en el icono del archivo y
    despus haga clic en el botn "Run in Terminal" o ejecute el archivo de secuencia de comandos mediante una lnea de comandos.
 4. Siga las instrucciones que aparecen en la pantalla del programa de instalacin.

6. Agregar la impresora a CUPS manualmente:
---------------------------------------
 1. Conecte la impresora al equipo con Linux instalado travs de USB.
 2. Inicie un navegador y abra "http://localhost:631".
 3. Haga clic en "Agregar impresora" y aada sus caractersticas, como el nombre y la descripcin.
    En la lista desplegable de Dispositivos, seleccione "Lexmark USB Backend #1 (Lexmark
    <modelo de impresora>)" o "Lexmark Network Backend #1 (Lexmark <modelo de impresora>)".
    Compruebe que haya seleccionado el dispositivo correcto. Si no ve su modelo en la lista,
    significa que la impresora no ha sido detectada. En algunas distribuciones, es posible que tenga que
    reiniciar el equipo para que sea detectada.

    Tambin puede Explorar para buscar el archivo PPD si el dispositivo no figura en la lista.
    Los archivos ppd se encuentran en la carpeta /usr/local/lexmark/legacy/etc/. Los siguientes modelos
    son aquellos compatibles con el ordenador y con su correspondiente 
    archivo ppd:

 4. Seleccione el nombre del modelo de impresora Lexmark. Tras agregar
    la impresora, tendra que ver las Opciones de la Impresora. Haga clic en Establecer Opciones de Impresora
    (opcional), o proceda como se explica en el paso siguiente.
 5. Puede acceder a la administracin de la impresora directamente si teclea esta direccin en
    el navegador: http://localhost:631/printers/<nombre de impresora>. El nombre de
    la impresora es el mismo que el que introdujo en el paso 3.
 6. Imprima una pgina de prueba para comprobar que el software ha sido instalado correctamente.

7. Desinstalacin:
------------------
  Para paquetes basados en Debian:
   1. Inicie sesin como root.
   2. Desinstale el paquete DEB:

   1. Inicie sesin como root.

8. Cdigo abierto:

9. Preguntas Ms Frecuentes:

  P: Cmo utilizo la opcin instalable Bandeja 2 que aparece en los valores de cola de la impresora?
  R: Asegrese de que la impresora es compatible con esta opcin. Si es compatible, instale la bandeja de papel adicional, 
     y, a continuacin, defina la opcin de la impresora como instalada. Ahora podr utilizar Bandeja 2 como origen del papel al imprimir.

  P: Cmo puedo iniciar la caja de herramientas de la impresora Lexmark desde la lnea de comandos?

  R: 1. Puede descargarlo desde http://www.rpmfind.net
     2. Instlelo mediante yum en Fedora, escribiendo lo siguiente en la lnea de comandos: rpm -ivh [packagename].rpm.

  P: Por qu durante el Proceso de Configuracin Inalmbrica se produce un error de comunicacin cuando se activa/desactiva la conexin Ethernet en el equipo?
  R: Si el equipo se conecta a una red Ethernet y a una red inalmbrica al
     mismo tiempo, desactive la conexin Ethernet para permitir completamente la
     conexin inalmbrica.

  P: Por qu el diseo no es correcto cuando se imprime con tamaos de papel ms pequeos (por ejemplo, EnvelopeKakugata4)?
  R: Es posible que al definir tamaos de papel en CUPS Web no se actualicen los valores de "lpoptions". Es posible que algunos filtros de CUPS de su distribucin requieran un ajuste de tamao de pgina 
     de las "lpoptions" para tener un diseo correcto.

     Asimismo, puede definir el tamao de la pgina manualmente cada vez:
	Ejemplo: lp -d <queuename> -o PageSize=EnvelopeKakugata4 <filename>

     O bien puede asegurarse de que est definido en "lpoptions":
	Ejemplo:  lpoptions -d <queuename> PageSize=EnvelopeKakugata4

  P: Por qu se detiene o se atasca mi trabajo de impresin cuando imprimo un banner?
  R: La impresin de banner tambin puede verse afectada por el problema de diseo mencionado anteriormente. Es posible que CUPS Web no actualice la configuracin de "lpoptions", cuyos filtros 
     son necesarios para el diseo de pgina. Aun as, puede que los trabajos se detengan o se atasquen debido a la salida abrupta de filtros.

  P: Por qu se obtiene un resultado incorrecto cuando se imprime con algunos tamaos de papel, como Banner A4, Carta Banner y Sobre Kakugata 4?
  R: Los tamaos de papel, como los mencionados anteriormente, se consideran tamaos de papel personalizados. Definir un tamao de papel personalizado en las versiones de CUPS 1.3.11 hasta la CUPS 1.4.1 mediante
     CUPS Web no surte efecto.

     Para solucionar el problema:
     1. Mediante el comando lp, indique el tamao de pgina que desee utilizar para la impresin.
	Ejemplo: lp -d <queuename> -o PageSize=EnvelopeKakugata4 <filename>

     2. Otra solucin es definir el valor de tamao de pgina antes de la impresin mediante el comando de lpoptions.
	Ejemplo:  lpoptions -d <queuename> PageSize=EnvelopeKakugata4

  P:  Por qu algunas impresiones de archivos de texto estn incompletas?
  R:  Esto se debe a que el archivo de texto se guard con la codificacin de caracteres de Europa occidental (ISO).
     
      Al imprimir un archivo de texto, asegrese de que este archivo de texto se guarde 
      con la codificacin UTF-8.
 
      La codificacin del archivo de texto se puede comprobar o cambiar con el bloc de notas
      en Archivo->Guardar como.  Siga estos pasos:
      1)  Inicie el bloc de notas que se encuentra en la opcin Accesorios del men Inicio
      2)  Dirjase a la barra de mens del bloc de notas y seleccione Archivo->Guardar como
      3)  En el cuadro de dilogo Guardar como que se muestra, busque la lista desplegable Codificacin.
          La lista desplegable mostrar la codificacin
          del archivo de texto.
      4)  Para cambiar la codificacin de este archivo a UTF-8, seleccione
          la opcin UTF-8 en la lista desplegable y haga clic en el botn
          Guardar.
 
      Tambin puede comprobar o cambiar la codificacin de un archivo de texto a travs de su
      terminal:
      Para comprobar la codificacin del archivo, introduzca el comando que se muestra a continuacin
      en el terminal:
                      archivo FILENAME_OF_TEXT_FILE
 
                      por ejemplo,
                          file sample.txt
 
      Para cambiar la codificacin del archivo de texto, introduzca el comando que se muestra a continuacin
      en el terminal:
                            iconv -f ORIGINAL_ENCODING_OF_TEXT_FILE -t NEW_ENCODING_OF_
                            TEXT_FILE < FILENAME_OF_TEXT_FILE > NEW_FILENAME_OF_

  Q: Why am I getting incorrect output when scanning with some media sizes such as Legal?
  A: Media sizes such as those mentioned above are actually scan sizes and are evaluated into
     width and height attributes. Applications like xsane and scanimage can opt to override
     these attributes, which the Lexmark scanner driver simply use. 

     When scanning with media size Legal, scanimage and scanadf applications have been observed 
     to make rounding adjustments with regards to height. XSane is not known to make such 
     adjustments.
