5. Installation:
----------------
 1. Ne connectez pas l'imprimante  l'ordinateur Linux via un cble USB.
 2. Extrayez le fichier zip.
     Pour les systmes RPM:

 3. Excutez le fichier de script du programme d'installation en double-cliquant sur l'icne du fichier, puis
    cliquez sur le bouton "Run in Terminal", ou encore excutez le fichier de script par ligne de commande.
 4. Suivez les instructions qui s'affichent sur l'cran du programme d'installation.

6. Ajout manuel de l'imprimante dans CUPS:
---------------------------------------
 1. Connectez l'imprimante  l'ordinateur Linux via un cble USB.
 2. Lancez un navigateur et ouvrez "http://localhost:631"
 3. Cliquez sur "Ajouter imprimante" et entrez les dtails, notamment le nom et la description.
    Dans la liste droulante des priphriques, slectionnez "Lexmark USB Backend #1 (Lexmark
    <modle imprimante>)" ou "Lexmark Network Backend #1 (Lexmark <modle imprimante>)".
    Veillez  slectionner le priphrique appropri. L'imprimante n'est pas dtecte par
    l'ordinateur si vous ne voyez pas son modle dans la liste. Sur certaines distributions, vous pouvez tre amen 
    redmarrer l'ordinateur pour qu'elle puisse tre dtecte.

    Vous pouvez galement naviguer jusqu'au fichier PPD si le priphrique ne figure pas sur la liste.
    Les fichiers ppd se trouvent dans le dossier /usr/local/lexmark/legacy/etc/. Ci-dessous
    les diffrents modles pris en charge par ce pilote avec leur fichier 
    ppd correspondant :

 4. Slectionnez le nom de votre modle d'imprimante Lexmark. Une fois
    l'imprimante ajoute, l'option "Options d'imprimante" doit s'afficher. Cliquez sur "Dfinir les options de l'imprimante"
    (facultatif) ou passez  l'tape suivante.
 5. Vous pouvez accder  l'administration de l'imprimante directement en tapant l'adresse suivante dans
    le navigateur: http://localhost:631/printers/<nom imprimante>. Le nom de
    l'imprimante est le mme que celui que vous avez entr  l'tape3.
 6. Imprimez une page de test pour vrifier que l'imprimante a t correctement installe.

7. Dsinstallation:
------------------
  Pour les paquets bass sur Debian:
   1. Connectez-vous en tant que root.
   2. Dsinstallez le paquet DEB: 
        par ex. 
	     A. Pour pilote install avec JRE
	         #dpkg -r lexmark-inkjet-legacy-wJre
	         #dpkg -r lexmark-legacy-wsu
	     B. Pour pilote install sans JRE
	         #dpkg -r lexmark-inkjet-legacy

  Pour les paquets bass sur RPM:
   1. Connectez-vous en tant que root.
   2. Dsinstallez le paquet RPM: rpm -e <paquet>,

   1. Le code Open Source Nixstaller a t utilis dans la cration du programme d'installation de ce pilote.
      Nixstaller est fourni sous licence dans le cadre de GNU General Public License version 2. Pour obtenir

9. Foire Aux Questions (FAQ) :
------------------------------
  Q : Comment utiliser l'option "Bac 2" installable que je vois dans les paramtres de file d'attente de l'imprimante?
  R : Vrifiez que votre imprimante prend en charge cette option. Si oui, installez le bac supplmentaire, 
     puis dfinissez l'option d'imprimante comme tant installe. Vous pouvez maintenant utiliser Bac2 comme source de papier lors de l'impression.

  Q: Comment dmarrer la bote  outils de limprimante Lexmark  partir de la ligne de commande?
  R : Dans la fentre du terminal, saisissez /usr/local/lexmark/legacy/bin/.scripts/lxtoolbox, puis appuyez sur Entre.

  Q : O trouver le raccourci de bureau Bote  outils de limprimante Lexmark?
  R : 1. Dans le Systme de fichiers ou le Gestionnaire de fichiers, cliquez sur Racine si ncessaire, puis sur usr > share > applications
     2. Excutez la bote  outils de limprimante Lexmark (lxtoolboxlegacy.desktop) ou copiez-la sur votre bureau.

  R : Xsane doit tre install sparment car il nest pas intgr au systme dexploitation.

  Q : Comment puis-je installer Xsane-Gimp sur Fedora 10?
  R : 1. Vous pouvez le tlcharger  partir de http://www.rpmfind.net
     2. Effectuez linstallation  laide de yum dans fedora en saisissant rpm -ivh [packagename].rpm sur la ligne de commande.

  Q : Pourquoi une erreur de communication se produit-elle durant la configuration de l'utilitaire de configuration sans fil lorsque la connexion Ethernet du PC est active?
  R : Si l'ordinateur est connect  un rseau Ethernet et un rseau sans fil
     en mme temps, dsactivez la connexion Ethernet pour activer pleinement
     la connexion sans fil.

  Q : Pourquoi la mise en page est-elle incorrecte lors de l'impression avec des petits formats de papier (par ex., enveloppe Kakugata4)?
  R : Il se peut que la dfinition des formats de papier dans CUPS Web ne mette pas  jour les paramtres "lpoptions". Certains filtres de CUPS dans votre distribution ont besoin du paramtre de format de page 
     de "lpoptions" pour une mise en page correcte.

     Vous pouvez dfinir manuellement le format de page  chaque fois:
	Exemple : lp -d <queuename> -o PageSize=EnvelopeKakugata4 <filename>

     Ou vous pouvez vrifier qu'il est dfini dans "lpoptions":
	Exemple :  lpoptions -d <queuename> PageSize=EnvelopeKakugata4

  Q : Pourquoi ma tche d'impression s'arrte-elle ou se bloque-t-elle lorsque j'imprime sur du papier continu?
  R : L'impression sur du papier continu est galement affecte par le problme de mise en page mentionn ci-dessus. Il se peut que CUPS Web n'ait pas mis  jour les paramtres "lpoptions" dont les filtres 
     ont besoin pour la mise en page. Les tches peuvent galement s'arrter ou se bloquer en raison de la fermeture brutale des filtres.

  Q : Pourquoi obtient-on une impression incorrecte avec des formats de papier tels que Papier continu A4, Format lettre continu et Enveloppe Kakugata4?
  R : Les formats de papier tels que ceux mentionns ci-dessus sont considrs comme des formats de papier personnaliss. La dfinition d'un format de papier personnalis dans CUPS1.3.11 jusqu' CUPS1.4.1 via CUPS
     Web ne prend pas effet.

     Pour rsoudre le problme:
     1. A l'aide de la commande lp, indiquez le format de page que vous souhaitez utiliser pour l'impression.
	Exemple : lp -d <queuename> -o PageSize=EnvelopeKakugata4 <filename>

     2. Une autre solution consiste  dfinir la valeur du format de page avant l'impression  l'aide de la commande lpoptions.
	Exemple :  lpoptions -d <queuename> PageSize=EnvelopeKakugata4

  Q :  Pourquoi certains fichiers texte ne s'impriment-ils pas compltement ?
  R :  Cela tient au fait que le fichier texte a t enregistr avec le codage des caractres ISO occidental.
     
      Lorsque vous imprimez un fichier texte, assurez-vous qu'il a t enregistr avec 
      le codage UTF-8.
 
      Le codage du fichier texte peut tre vrifi ou modifi dans l'application
      Editeur de texte en slectionnant Fichier->Enregistrer sous.  Procdez de la manire suivante :
      1)  Lancez l'Editeur de texte en slectionnant le menu Dmarrer, puis le menu Accessoires
      2)  Dans la barre de menus de l'Editeur de texte, slectionnez Fichier->Enregistrer sous
      3)  Dans la bote de dialogue Enregistrer sous, recherchez la liste droulante
          Codage des caractres.  Cette liste indique le codage appliqu
          au fichier texte.
      4)  Pour appliquer au fichier texte le codage UTF-8, choisissez simplement
          l'option UTF-8 dans la liste droulante et cliquez sur le bouton
          Enregistrer.
 
      Vous pouvez aussi vrifier ou modifier le codage d'un fichier texte via le
      Terminal.
      Pour vrifier le codage du fichier texte, tapez simplement la commande ci-dessous
      dans le Terminal:
                      file NOM_DU_FICHIER_TEXTE
 
                      Par exemple
                          file exemple.txt
 
      Pour modifier le codage du fichier texte, tapez simplement la commande
      ci-dessous dans le Terminal:
                            iconv -f CODAGE_ORIGINAL_DU_FICHIER_TEXTE -t NOUVEAU_CODAGE_DU
                            FICHIER_TEXTE < NOM_DU_FICHIER_TEXTE > NOUVEAU_NOM_DU

                            Par exemple

  Q: Why am I getting incorrect output when scanning with some media sizes such as Legal?
  A: Media sizes such as those mentioned above are actually scan sizes and are evaluated into
     width and height attributes. Applications like xsane and scanimage can opt to override
     these attributes, which the Lexmark scanner driver simply use. 

     When scanning with media size Legal, scanimage and scanadf applications have been observed 
     to make rounding adjustments with regards to height. XSane is not known to make such 
     adjustments.
